White Blossoms and Perfumes of Spring...

When I shared with a certain lovely one that my amaryllis refused to bud she suggested that I perform the blossom dance. Not having the faintest idea of what the blossom dance looked like I asked August who without hesitation sprang to action and showed me the footwork.

"Do like this!", he said.

"See, hind legs crossed, front legs open."

"You practice now, I gotta go to work!", said August.

Ollie who was on the wall watching the birds and squirrels during this time had to

take a peek!

We all read this later on...because there is so much spring in the air:

"O thou seeker after truth! The world of the Kingdom is one world. The only difference is that spring returneth over and over again, and setteth up a great new commotion throughout all created things. Then plain and hillside come alive, and trees turn delicately green, and leaves, blossoms and fruits come forth in beauty, infinite and tender. Wherefore the dispensations of past ages are intimately connected with those that follow them: indeed, they are one and the same, ..."

Wishing all a beautiful weekend of blossoms and perfumes, of dances and music. Kitties blew our kisses for the entire weekend!

Keen Kitties...

Ollie

Augustus

It would seem only natural to reflect on doodle cats' keen sense of interest but they put their paws on this passage, and so we read and reflected:

"...Passivity is bred by the forces of society today. A desire to be entertained is nurtured from childhood, with increasing efficiency, cultivating generations willing to be led by whoever proves skilful at appealing to superficial emotions. Even in many educational systems students are treated as though they were receptacles designed to receive information..."
(Ridvan 2010)

I feel that the cat boys are concerned that society may have made me lethargic, uninterested, a passive bystander...I think they are telling me to show keen interest, to become an agent of change...I have many feelings that are bursting to become actions..I suddenly remember Poe's quote that I read on Crownology this morning, "I wish I could write as if I were a mysterious cat." I think the doodle cats are too smart for their own fluffy pants. They are asking all of their girlfriends to check this. Gotta' love them!!!

I actually think that I better study chemistry! Cat boys put on their lab coats and gloves and blew kisses in the air for all...mwah mwah!

Valley of Search in mid term week!

The doodle cats are frequently in this plane of search...

and they always ask me to read to them about this stage of the wayfarer's journey, so we read...

"The steed of this Valley is patience; without patience the wayfarer on this journey will reach nowhere and attain no goal. Nor should he ever be downhearted; if he strive for a hundred thousand years and yet fail to behold the beauty of the Friend, he should not falter. For those who seek the Ka‘bih of “for Us” rejoice in the tidings: “In Our ways will We guide them.” In their search, they have stoutly girded up the loins of service, and seek at every moment to journey from the plane of heedlessness into the realm of being. No bond shall hold them back, and no counsel shall deter them.
It is incumbent on these servants that they cleanse the heart—which is the wellspring of divine treasures—from every marking, and that they turn away from imitation, which is following the traces of their forefathers and sires, and shut the door of friendliness and enmity upon all the people of the earth."
(Seven Valleys)

Ollie and Gustopher recommend that you take on this Valley with a cat and lots of treats...Hasta luego and muchos besos!

Fascinated with spheres

Ollie did a brief meditation on this sphere in the courtyard

and upon seeing a smaller sphere on the patio chair

he resumed meditation/wrestling on the patio.

He became very tired, read a little bit

and quickly fell asleep!

Augustus mostly guarded the walls, chased squirrels, and climbed trees,

meditated,

and fell asleep!

Cat boys wished all a place in their sphere of usefulness by filling their paws with little kisses and blowing them into the air! I caught a few already!

Going to work!

Early this morning the doodles told me that they were going to work!
In this photo they are deciding what to do and where to go to be of greatest service.

I saw Ollie running intently this way,
and later that way!
So focused was Ollie's determination that it distracted Augustus-he just laid on his side trying to see what was to come out of all this back and forth! (PS-Ollie usually horses around if you must know)
Ollie returned Gus' look of astonishment with another gaze that had me astonished!!
I followed him to see what he was going to do today and it turned out that he was getting ready to pot some flowers...

Gus went to his customer service desk!
Today I learned from these doodle boys to go to work at least with determination if not with anything else.

Boys read this later at home:

"...the conception of work needs to transcend just the economic dimension and encompass also the human and social purpose that employment fulfills.
Work needs to be seen not only as a means to securing an individual and family’s basic needs, but also as a channel to developing one’s craft, refining one’s character, and contributing to the welfare and progress of society.
Work, no matter how humble and simple, when performed with an attitude of service, is a means to contribute to the advancement of our communities, countries and global society..."

(BIC statement to UN 2008)

Our little boys though very exhausted with work managed to fill their paws with kisses to blow to their friends! Ciao!

When Gus and Ols go shopping for flowers...

they pick the purplish hues...

and when they sit to read, they reflect upon this:

O MY BROTHER!
Hearken to the delightsome words of My honeyed tongue, and quaff the stream of mystic holiness from My sugar shedding lips. Sow the seeds of My divine wisdom in the pure soil of thy heart, and water them with the water of certitude, that the hyacinths of My knowledge and wisdom may spring up fresh and green in the sacred city of thy heart.
(Hidden Words)

Kitty boys sent kisses from their sugar-shedding lips along with heaps of love!

Hasta luego! Ciao!

Early Sunday afternoon...

on my way to view the home gardens of Pasadenians before heading out to office I found doodle 1, aka Augustus, in his bedroom

and doodle 2, aka, Ollie, in our bedroom. Apparently they were both exhausted from rascaling around all morning!

Earlier in the day we went for our usual walk,

sniffed the lavendar,

and inspected the bean bush in our cement garden.

Apparently, we cannot read with two sleepy heads so I played for them one of their favorites, Fritz Kreisler, ... I know, I know, where do they come up with these things?!?!

Little dudes filled their paws with kisses for Monday morning before they fell asleep. Wishing all a wonderful new week!

Silently they communicate!

This was reflected in the mental bubble above Augustus' head

"O mon ami, le coeur est le siège des mystères éternels, n'en fais pas le lieu des pensées fugitives; ne gâche pas le trésor de ta précieuse vie en participant à ce monde fugace. Tu viens du monde de sainteté - n'attache pas ton coeur à la terre; tu es un familier de la cour de proximité - ne prends pas pour patrie la poussière..."

Baha'u'llah : Les sept vallees

while Ollie's bubble read:

"¡Oh amigo!, el corazón es la morada de misterios eternos, no la conviertas en hogar de caprichos pasajeros; ni derroches el tesoro de tu preciada vida ocupándolo en este mundo fugaz. Provienes del mundo de la santidad -no ates tu corazón a la tierra; eres morador de la corte de la cercanía- no elijas la patria del polvo..." Los Siete Valles, Los Cuatro Valles

I know you may not think much of this but I am blown away...doodles are always miles ahead of me!
Not knowing how to react I quickly told them to start sending flying kisses into air, and so little kitty kisses were released in the air for all corazones to partake.

Ciao!
------------------------EDIT
When I told Ollie that he may need to go to Santa Barbara to hear James Hillman, he did not waste a moment's time. LaBeletteRouge dear, do you mind letting him ride with you?

Tending to the Garden...

Ollie was in a gardening mood this past Saturday, and of course I could not be more thrilled about it.

You know he has a green paw, which is awfully useful to those with cement gardens!

After finishing in the cement patio, he went out to do some work there too!

Augustus could not believe his eyes...

Later, the two stared at each other for a while...I think Gussy was saying, "what's up with all this gardening?"

Ollie did not know why he had this urge!

When they came in we read...

The Garden by Hafiz

The garden is breathing out the air of Paradise today,
Toward me, a friend with a sweet nature, and this wine.

It's all right for the beggar to brag that he is a King today.
His royal tent is a shadow thrown by a cloud; his throne room is a sown field.

This meadow is composing a tale of a spring day in May;
The serious man lets the future go and accepts the cash now.

Do you really believe your enemy will be faithful to you?
The candle the hermit lights goes out in the worldly church.

Make your soul strong then by feeding it the secret wine.
When we have turned to dust, this rotten world will press our dust into bricks.

My life is a black book. But don't rebuke me too much.
No person can ever read the words written on his own forehead.

When Hafez's coffin comes by, it'll be all right to follow behind.
Although he is a captive of sin, he is on his way to the Garden.

Ollie wanted you to know that he is willing to come and help you with your gardening and Augustus offered to read the Garden poem while Ollie is at work...they also blew enticing little kisses in the air (they are up for grabs)
