June o June

As we come upon the last days of June it occurs to us that it was no less jam packed with action and work as the months preceding it.  That is fine with us.  Cat boys love going to work.  In fact, we have to use all sorts of tricks to keep them indoors where they can relax, listen to music, dance, read, nap, etc.

It isn't easy picking up from the last post where students graduated and went about their ways.  So I am going to jump right into it and share with you a few tid bits of the days of June.

For example, 2 weekends ago I bought a box of cards that captured fairly accurately how things go in our household.

You guess who the mice are and you will get a prize from the magnificent one who is hiding behind the wall.  Seriously, you will.

The card showing a paw reminded me to show you some paws and kitty hinies....

Here's Augustus the Sweet Pants, one morning in June, half of him wondering if he should chase the birds while the other half was planning to chase the squirrels.
He is a slanky gymnast on a balance bar!
Here again, his two back feet want to go in different directions!  One side of him wants to come inside but the other side wants to be out.
This one is a normal pose for Mr Sweet Pants...one that he chooses to be photographed in.

Another day we were out and Mr Sweet Pants was scoping the surroundings.
The same day we also came across two feathers from visiting pigeons.
Ollie did not waste any time and adorned his head with one feather, and asked to be referred to as Chief Gingerella for the day.
He also demonstrated his wild side by trying to scale a straight wall.
Augustus and I applauded him.

We have been gathering each morning in the Garden of Delights where they delight while I read to them a short passage for reflection.  I don't know what I read that day but

it made Ollie turn upside down.

This morning's thoughts were centered on this: thankfulness, especially in the midst of having problems to solve and deadlines to keep we always smile with thankfulness at the help that arrives miraculously, steadily, bountifully.

I'm thankful for a pair of shoes that feel really good on my feet; I like my shoes.
I'm thankful for the birds; I feel like they're singing just for me when I get up in the morning... Saying, 'Good morning, John. You made it, John.'
I'm thankful for the sea breeze that feels so good right now, and the scent of jasmine when the sun starts going down.
I'm thankful...Johnny Cash

Catboys filled their big paws with kisses and sent them your way as you prepare to  have a great weekend.

Ciao everyone!

Graduation Day....

He was ready to go

as was he.
I think this one too...he was walking very fast on campus!
I snapped a few shots of this beautiful campus...
Roses...
Agapanthus...
Agapanthus...
Agapanthus...(say it three times Kerin!)
Him or her again!
The faculty lined up for the ceremonies...
This morning...
The commencement speaker...President Coleman from University of Michigan.
With graduation notes in the air the cat boys chose this passage to reflect upon.

The mystic and the physicist arrive at the same conclusion; one starting from the inner realm, the other from the outer world. The harmony between their views confirms the ancient Indian wisdom thatBrahman, the ultimate reality without, is identical to Atman, the reality within.  (Fritjohf Capra)

May Purrs and kitty kisses follow you this weekend!

Ciao!

When the agapanthus blooms

the two Mrs like to sit next to it while they adore the doves that practice their model walk for them.
I adored them, and the agapanthus that has the just so right amount of bluish lavender to delight the rods and cones...
And then again, I adored and applauded the two young ones for practicing their minds, focusing, imagining, thinking.
Later when they tired of focusing and thinking...it was time to sit casually,
elegantly,
peacefully,
until arrived the time to leave.
His little boots always make me smile!

We pondered on this:

"O Salman! All that the sages and mystics have said or written have never exceeded, nor can they ever hope to exceed, the limitations to which man's finite mind hath been strictly subjected. To whatever heights the mind of the most exalted of men may soar, however great the depths which the detached and understanding heart can penetrate, such mind and heart can never transcend that which is the creature of their own conceptions and the product of their own thoughts. The meditations of the profoundest thinker, the devotions of the holiest of saints, the highest expressions of praise from either human pen or tongue, are but a reflection of that which hath been created within themselves, through the revelation of the Lord, their God. Whoever pondereth this truth in his heart will readily admit that there are certain limits which no human being can possibly transgress. ..."  -Gleanings

The cat boys sent you all Juney kisses, by the pawful.  Enjoy...

Ciao!

And here they are...

Precious #1 and Precious #2....
doing what they always do...which always makes me wonder, what had they earlier discussed amongst themselves?
When we moved into this complex some years back we did not know that it was only a modern complex on the surface.  In reality it lay embedded in a magical kingdom that permeated through!
On that particular early morning, which started cool and pleasant as it had been doing so lately, Mr Sweet Pants and Mr Puffy Pants were minding their own business when a bird visitor arrived from the neighboring land. Aahs and meows!  Aahs and meows!
They kept a safe distance from the unbelievable and started adoring it.
He/she did not stay too long, said a few words, and flew off!
The Precious Ones came out
to see how real was their feathery visitor.
Realizing their astonishment I rounded them up for some
kitty snuff, which they enjoyed and found soothing.
Then we returned to that
marvelous spot and wondered if yet again the feathery visitor would stop by.

The precious ones meditated on this:

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”

― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Cat boys sent blew kisses your way...enjoy!
