Our furry calendars and clocks...

Most people rely on their calendar and their clock to keep dates and time. I have found no need for these devices, in general. The cat boys know weekends all too well. They even know a bit about national holidays, such as the upcoming Labor Day; but more impressively they know time. The first meow comes at 5 a.m. sharp. I push the snooze button, and then several variations of mew, meoow, grrrr, sigh, uuuh, ohhh...all follow, and if one of us does not respond, well, it would then be time for heavy artillery....sharp little teeth.
This morning after our most uninteresting stroll down the street we returned. I, sensing that the cat boys know that it is Friday, rounded them up quickly and got them in by 6:45 a.m. This was not approved by either Augustus or Ollie who sat in front of me giving me the dirty look.

A little frustrated, a little snappy, they are not the happy troopers that I always brag about.

Little August has to peek out to see what he might be missing.

It is really nothing...nothing at all.

Ollie who is fed up with my photo shoots goes to one corner to hide.

However, all comes back to normal with the doodles within minutes. There's a shadow for August to follow,

and Ollie gets to watch while trying to do sit-up crunches.

And this reminds me of a beautiful passage we had read before:

O SON OF SPIRIT! My first counsel is this: Possess a pure, kindly and radiant heart, that thine may be a sovereignty ancient, imperishable and everlasting. (Hidden Words)

More precious, they could not be....more pure, their hearts could not be!

A Happy Holiday Weekend to all and cat kisses throughout...

Ciao!

  6. Ollie's stomach...do you resist? do you grab a handful? would you be typing with one hand if you did?

  7. I am usually fighting off Ollie with both hands...unable to type or do anything else for that matter. He firmlly believes in biting his mommy with all his might. : )

  8. biting? noooooooooooo.
a cat cannot walk around, flaunting that tummy and not let a person indulge in it. that's unfair.
