Sometimes we spend our mornings in

silent observations.  This, we do not plan in advance.  It just happens.

This early morning I was captivated by the unfurling palm leaves, unfurling right before our very eyes.
The hungry squirrel paused a moment too.
In other acres, some furry paws were resting and silence was only gently tapped with the swishing of a tail that I wished I could grab.  I knew someone (Augustus) was reflecting in silence.
His brother partner, the orange man, Ollie, was testing the silent zone too.
The spheres of silence touched each other.
Mr Puffy Pants who could not resist any longer and had to take a peek.
Mr Sweet Pants too had had enough this morning.  He called his orange brother to join him for morning coffee.
I thought of this:

“Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven't the answer to a question you've been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you're alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.”
 Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth

Cat boys filled their paws with kisses and blew them in the air for their friends.  Happy weekend everyone!

Ciao!

  5. You find the most beautiful poetry and words of wisdom. They always speak to me! It's so neat that you weave beautiful words into stories about your beautiful cats. Keep up this good work; love it!

  6. For a moment, I was afraid that the cat dudes would try to catch the squirrel - have they ever...caught one?
    The text described moments I appreciate as well. Only total silence makes me nuts (;

    Mette- I agree...total silence can be loud...only once Augustus brought into our living room a live squirrel as a present and it ran away as soon as he dropped it...I am amazed at how they carry them gently in their mouths xx

    Carolina- we love the calm...the city is too too noisy xx
