following their paws here and there

The cat boys may now be referred to as cat junior youth.  They run around with fast paws and I am lucky if I get glimpses of them here and there.  Just like any mom would wonder I too wonder how these cat boys grew up so fast.

Last weekend one set of paws was found on a ledge
and the other set was resting on another ledge.
I walked around examining the surroundings, mostly the skies that were blue enough to accentuate the beauty of the bare branches.  The breeze would come in bursts bringing with it freshness from an unknown space, and a familiar swish.  I was thinking different thoughts, breathing deep the cool, dry air, deliberately,
when the fluffy orange of his coat caught my attention, and within the span of a few moments
the little head of a stripey one emerged from behind a thin plant.
It occurred to me that we three were enjoying the very same.

Nature is thin around us but we find ways to enjoy it in short spans.

We three brought to mind this lovely passage.

Nature satisfies by its loveliness, and without any mixture of corporeal benefit. I see the spectacle of morning from the hill-top over against my house, from day-break to sun-rise, with emotions which an angel might share. The long slender bars of cloud float like fishes in the sea of crimson light. From the earth, as a shore, I look out into that silent sea. I seem to partake its rapid transformations: the active enchantment reaches my dust, and I dilate and conspire with the morning wind. How does Nature deify us with a few and cheap elements! Give me health and a day, and I will make the pomp of emperors ridiculous. The dawn is my Assyria; the sun-set and moon-rise my Paphos, and unimaginable realms of faerie; broad noon shall be my England of the senses and the understanding; the night shall be my Germany of mystic philosophy and dreams.  ( Emerson)

May you be surrounded by nature a little bit each day and may kitty kisses land on your face during the nights.

Cat boys sent pawful of kisses and their best wishes for a fabulous February.

Ciao everyone!

  1. Nothing sweeter than a kitty paw. I like to rub them and watch them spread! A beautiful reminder of nature from Emerson. The best to you and the lovely cat boys!

  6. We are currently seeing quite a different side of nature: harsh, unforgiving and handingout tough lessons. The rain, the snow, sleet and ice left us physically paralysed but spiritually and emotionally very much awake.

  7. A glance here, a peek there, orangey fluff and black stripes to remind us of the moment. Of how simply 'noticing' what's around you, can bring calmness and satisfaction. To remember to look up and be thankful for the color blue. ;)
