this was a week ago

It was a beautiful sunny cool afternoon, the sort that could be spent just about any place producing the same level of delight. I had the grand idea of taking a nap and allowing dreams to take me to places far.
I shared this idea with Augustus who immediately set to preparing the bed for us.

He has to fluff the sheepskin first
and that looks kind of funny
but it is always done the same way
as if he has to wake up the sheep skin to embrace him.

I then decided to run out and call for that naughty ginger cat of ours
and much to my surprise he appeared to have the same idea in his head. Here he is gently splitting the air molecules as he comes to me.
Indoors, in Gus' room Ollie chose the cooler ground where strips of light fell on him. His lazy hazel eyes told me that he welcomed the call but he did not want me to know that of course.
He yawned a very courteous yawn, barely opening his lips
while Sweet pants gave a big yawn, wide wide open.
Eyelids shut
Ollie fell on his side
and so did Gus, again.
I watched them for a while and read to them softly for their relaxation and subliminal meditation.

"Only when the lamp of search, of earnest striving, of longing desire, of passionate devotion, of fervid love, of rapture, and ecstasy, is kindled within the seeker’s heart, and the breeze of His loving-kindness is wafted upon his soul, will the darkness of error be dispelled, the mists of doubts and misgivings be dissipated, and the lights of knowledge and certitude envelop his being. …Then will the manifold favours and outpouring grace of the holy and everlasting Spirit confer such new life upon the seeker that he will find himself endowed with a new eye, a new ear, a new heart, and a new mind. He will contemplate the manifest signs of the universe, and will penetrate the hidden mysteries of the soul. Gazing with the eye of God, he will perceive within every atom a door that leadeth him to the stations of absolute certitude. He will discover in all things the mysteries of divine Revelation and the evidences of an everlasting manifestation." (Book of Certitude)

The little noises I heard indicated that they were flying high in dreamland.

With best wishes and kitty kisses...happy thursday to all!

Ciao

  5. Oh, so sweet. I know the " fluffing " thing, having had cats too.
    Beautiful pictures.
Did you get a nap yourself?
Just today, I read, that a 10-15 minutes nap daytime is good for the health!

  7. The little boys are as beautiful as ever. They look happy as they enjoy the sun and sleep...

The extract from The book of Certitude is very comforting, in a way. It would be good for one to be able " to penetrate the hidden mysteries of the soul... and... absolute certitude" but it's not easy, is it?

Do you think your lovely cats can sleep so peacefully and enjoy life's gifts because they are not looking for mysteries and certitude? Are they happier than us because they are content with being loved, enjoying the sun and feeling comforted by a sheepskin blanket? Just a thought!

    CIAO!

Gazing with the eye of God, he will perceive within every atom a door that leadeth him to the stations of absolute certitude.
