At their beck and call...

When cat boys ask me to press their collars and bow ties, I don't say "whaaa?", I just do it. At their beck and call we are, happily.
Ollie going out to work. I hope he makes a lot of dineros because he has many expenses.
Augustus dressed up and ready for his pupils.
Afterwards he takes off his collar and stretches, something we all must learn to do.
I noticed that Auguste was reading in French today but suprised I am not. I will post the paragraph in English too as soon as Ollie translates it for me:

"Par les explications que nous avons déjà données, nous avons voulu montrer que la gloire, le bonheur, l'honneur et la paix de l'homme ne consistent pas dans ses richesses personnelles mais plutôt dans la sublimation de son âme, la noblesse de ses intentions, l'étendue de son éducation et dans la solution qu'il adopte devant les problèmes de la vie.
En vérité c'est dans les âmes des hommes que se trouve leur seule gloire."
Baha'u'llah : L'Art divin de vivre

Cat boys made pawfuls of kisses this morning and blew them in the air, I hope some landed on your faces.

A bientot!

PS-in case certain cats need to dress up, the bowties are from whiskerkisses, thank you Rebecca and Twiggy!

Translation:
"The happiness and greatness, the rank and station, the pleasure and peace, of an individual have never consisted in his personal wealth, but rather in his excellent character, his high resolve, the breadth of his learning, and his ability to solve difficult problems."

The Spirit of Aloha...

This morning I was awakened way too early by a certain ginger cat who needed my attention; mildly confused, tired and irritated though I was my heart and mind were filled with the Spirit of Aloha. I actually think that I heard Ollie meow Aloha to me but I may have been dreaming too.

So I gathered up the cat boys to read the poem by Kumu Pilahi Paki (1952), a poem which describes the meaning of Aloha. Literally Alo means face to face and Ha means the divine spirit. So when you say Aloha you embrace each other in the shadow of divine spirit, a joyful sharing of life energy, a mutual respect and regard for affection with no expectation for return.

The catboys who are well introduced into the spiritual sciences immediately assumed the Aloha posture waiting for someone to cross their path so they could give them an Aloha hug. Looking one way
and the other searching for someone to hug, no one to find

they had to go find someone,
perhaps hide behind a pot and jump out for a surprise aloha hug!

I said dudes, "maybe you can show your friends how one does an Aloha", and no moments wasted I saw an Aloha kiss.

Ollie who was amused by this game ran indoors to do a sneak aloha attack.

Here's what we read....

Akahai E Na Hawai`i
Kindness, express it with a feeling of tenderness.

Lokahi A Kulike
Unity, express it with a feeling of harmony.

Olu`Olu Ka Manao
Agreeable, express it with a feeling of pleasantness.

Ha`Aha`A Kou Kulana
Humility, express it with a feeling for modesty.

Ahonui A Lankila
Patience, apply it with perseverence.

Cat boys joyfully filled their paws with aloha kisses and blew them in the air for you!

Aloha!

First week of 2011

we pretend that it is winter and here's the proof below but not really. The days are getting longer and our earth is tingling from within feeling springlike inside.
Much to my contentment I find Augustus all dressed up and ready to go to work with me on this first Monday of 2011.
Ollie on the other hand...well, take a look, he is passed out on the bed from too much playing last night. He wants to know if he could take the day off if
he shows us some of his cute parts...his puffy pants,
his puffy paws. I gave in. He can stay in and play.
Gussy selected this for reading and reflection:

"A drop of the billowing ocean of His endless mercy hath adorned all creation with the ornament of existence, and a breath wafted from His peerless Paradise hath invested all beings with the robe of His sanctity and glory. A sprinkling from the unfathomed deep of His sovereign and all-pervasive Will hath, out of utter nothingness, called into being a creation which is infinite in its range and deathless in its duration. The wonders of His bounty can never cease, and the stream of His merciful grace can never be arrested. The process of His creation hath had no beginning, and can have no end." (Gleanings)

Cat babes send you pawfuls of kitty kisses and best wishes as you start your first week of 2011!

A little post christmas hello from cat dudes...

A cool and beautiful day here, I was roaming with the cat dudes who have become very camera shy.

I said, "dudes, how about a little hello and some kisses".
Ollie could not resist.

Neither could Augustus.

One of the two read a passage for reflection, the other (who shall remain unnamed) decided to monitor the city waterways.

We read:

"the world of existence does not culminate here. If this were so, existence itself would be sterile. There are many worlds of light. For even as the plant imagines life ends with itself and has no knowledge of our existence, so the materially-minded man has no knowledge of other worlds of consciousness." Divine Philosophy

So much love and kisses were piling up in these boys in the last few days...before separating to attend to individual business they made big pawfuls of kisses and blew them in the air for you.

Ciao everyone!

Surely Christmas is already here or

is it just around the corner? That's what the cat boys are thinking.
Ollie has been spending a good deal of time grooming, especially with all this rain pouring out of the sky.
He wants to know how long he should sit like this waiting.
The wise Gus, whom we now call "Aqua-cat" because he sprints in the rain, knows that Christmas is almost but not quite here yet.
So Ollie and Augustus sit around waiting and communicate telepathically while I work around the house.

Some time later I find Mr Puffy Pants in very deep reflection
and even later I find him like so by the door! Waiting is not easy for a baby cat!
One last reading before Christmas selected by our very special cat boys has us all thinking about Christmas...

"Know thou that when the Son of Man yielded up His breath to God, the whole creation wept with a great weeping. By sacrificing Himself, however, a fresh capacity was infused into all created things. Its evidences, as witnessed in all the peoples of the earth, are now manifest before thee. The deepest wisdom which the sages have uttered, the profoundest learning which any mind hath unfolded, the arts which the ablest hands have produced, the influence exerted by the most potent of rulers, are but manifestations of the quickening power released by His transcendent, His all-pervasive, and resplendent Spirit.

We testify that when He came into the world, He shed the splendor of His glory upon all created things. Through Him the leper recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified..." Baha'u'llah, Gleanings

Cat boys filled their paws with Christmas kisses and blew them in the air, sending them to their friends all over, far and wide...Meowy Christmas everyone!

Ciao!

Is it raining still?

"Come and get me when it stops."

"Meow!"

"So tired."

Our choices were limited to OPERA or reflecting on a reading, and the cat boys opted for reading this morning.

"Know ye that by "the world" is meant your unawareness of Him Who is your Maker, and your absorption in aught else but Him. The "life to come," on the other hand, signifieth the things that give you a safe approach to God, the All-Glorious, the Incomparable. Whatsoever deterreth you, in this Day, from loving God is nothing but the world. ... Should a man wish to adorn himself with the ornaments of the earth, to wear its apparels, or partake of the benefits it can bestow, no harm can befall him, if he alloweth nothing whatever to intervene between him and God, for God hath ordained every good thing, whether created in the heavens or in the earth, for such of His servants as truly believe in Him. Eat ye, O people, of the good things which God hath allowed you, and deprive not yourselves from His wondrous bounties. Render thanks and praise unto Him, and be of them that are truly thankful...." Gleanings

Wet pawfuls of kitty kisses and warm cat wishes for your week!

Ciao everyone!

Introducing the Magi to young cat boys...

The soft rain this morning

brought our little cat dudes indoors without too much hassle. I saw Ollie scrambling about and figured that he needed a story to settle him down.

Gussy, on the other hand, had already read my mind and sat prepared.
I said, "Ollie, did you want to know about the Magi?"
I know the answer was a solid "YES" when I noticed that he assumed the posture of listening, though there remained a glimpse of "what is she talking about" in his hazel eyes.
Gussy closed his eyes, he already was envisioning that period of time where people traveled on foot following a star in search of their visions.

Ollie who felt a little chill coming on, in spite of his comfortable stature, put on his christmas scarf and listened.
We read this:

"Among the Prophets was Abraham, the Friend of God. Ere He manifested Himself, Nimrod dreamed a dream. Thereupon, he summoned the soothsayers, who informed him of the rise of a star in the heaven. Likewise, there appeared a herald who announced throughout the land the coming of Abraham.
After Him came Moses, He Who held converse with God. The soothsayers of His time warned Pharaoh in these terms: "A star hath risen in the heaven, and lo! it foreshadoweth the conception of a Child Who holdeth your fate and the fate of your people in His hand." In like manner, there appeared a sage who, in the darkness of the night, brought tidings of joy unto the people of Israel, imparting consolation to their souls, and assurance to their hearts. …
In like manner, when the hour of the Revelation of Jesus drew nigh, a few of the Magi, aware that the star of Jesus had appeared in heaven, sought and followed it, till they came unto the city which was the seat of the Kingdom of Herod. The sway of his sovereignty in those days embraced the whole of that land.
These Magi said: "Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east and are come to worship Him!" When they had searched, they found out that in Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, the Child had been born. This was the sign that was manifested in the visible heaven. As to the sign in the invisible heaven -- the heaven of divine knowledge and understanding -- it was Yahya, son of Zachariah, who gave unto the people the tidings of the Manifestation of Jesus. Even as He hath revealed: "God announceth Yahya to thee, who shall bear witness unto the Word from God, and a great one and chaste." By the term "Word" is meant Jesus, Whose coming Yahya foretold…
From all that We have stated it hath become clear and manifest that before the revelation of each of the Mirrors reflecting the divine Essence, the signs heralding their advent must needs be revealed in the visible heaven as well as in the invisible, wherein is the seat of the sun of knowledge, of the moon of wisdom, and of the stars of understanding and utterance. The sign of the invisible heaven must needs be revealed in the person of that perfect man who, before each Manifestation appeareth, educateth, and prepareth the souls of men for the advent of the divine Luminary, the Light of the unity of God amongst men.”

(Book of Certitude)

While Gussy dreamt of those times

Ollie made little kisses one at a time and blew them in the air for you to wish you a happy weekend! He was most interested in the gifts of Magi!

Ciao everyone! Enjoy the weekend!
