A sight for worried eyes...

It seems like an eternity for an outdoorsy kitty like Augustus; at the vet's since Monday, back home Tuesday evening for more entrapment, missed out on all the outdoor fun and had to drink his medicine too! I finally had to let him out this evening; I cannot trap him forever. I did spend a lot of time in and out to see if I hear or see something suspicious. Of course I live in a busy city where everything is suspicious. I am not sure what I am looking for but I was ready to take care of business as I paced around the complex, this street and that house....
A few welcome back snap shots...

Little (chubser) Ollie is thinking what is my brother August doing?

He wanted to know if we are keeping him. I said Yes.

All this cat business has gotten me off track...reading, meditation, yoga, exercise, what happened to all the things I like to do?
I suppose it will have to wait until hopefully very soon.

A happy Wednesday evening to all!

One Angry Pussy...

Augustus has received three injuries in one month requiring antiobiotics initially and an overnight stay at the veterinary clinic Monday night. I picked up the doodle this afternoon and was told to keep him indoors for a couple of days until he feels better.
He is staring at me right now! He has been growling ever since we returned and pacing the room back and forth!

One Confused Pussy...
Ollie was searching about most of last night trying to find Augustus. He kept thinking that Augustus was hiding some place and was going to surprise attack him. After a while he thought perhaps I had given Augustus away and that he had moved up the feline ladder! This morning he and I walked together alone! This afternoon after picking Augustus from the veterinarian I let Ollie out and Gussy had to stay in. He could not figure it out poor baby....

Truth be told, I cannot figure it out either. I need to sneak out of the house in the dark and not return for a few days.

We were at the movies...

watching this

in this open air theatre.

Here's Ollie boy with a mysterious expression.

and little Augustus who seems to be enjoying himself,

and Ollie again trying to be less critical of the film!

Being a cat theatre, this film did not take very long, only 15 minutes!

We returned home quickly and had time to read this:

"...one must ... long for eternal life, the sublimity of the world of humanity, the celestial developments, the Holy Spirit, .. the promulgation of universal peace and the proclamation of the oneness of the world of humanity! This is the work! Otherwise like unto other animals and birds one must occupy himself with the requirements of this physical life, the satisfaction of which is the highest aspiration of the animal kingdom..

Consider ye! No matter how much man gains wealth, riches and opulence in this world, he will not become as independent as a cow. For these fattened cows roam freely over the vast tableland. All the prairies and meadows are theirs for grazing, and all the springs and rivers are theirs for drinking! No matter how much they graze, the fields will not be exhausted! It is evident that they have earned these material bounties with the utmost facility.

Still more ideal than this life is the life of the bird. A bird, on the summit of a mountain, on the high, waving branches, has built for itself a nest more beautiful than the palaces of the kings! The air is in the utmost purity, the water cool and clear as crystal, the panorama charming and enchanting. In such glorious surroundings, he expends his numbered days. All the harvests of the plain are his possessions, having earned all this wealth without the least labor. Hence, no matter how much man may advance in this world, he shall not attain to the station of this bird! Thus it becomes evident that in the matters of this world, however much man may strive and work to the point of death, he will be unable to earn the abundance, the freedom and the independent life of a small bird. This proves and establishes the fact that man is not created for the life of this ephemeral world -- nay, rather, is he created for the acquirement of infinite perfections, for the attainment to the sublimity of the world of humanity, to be drawn nigh unto the divine threshold, and to sit on the throne of everlasting sovereignty!

After reading this I assured the cat boys that they were not like the birds and the cows and that theirs was the extra special mission of bringing love into everyone's heart.

A lovely Monday to all and many many cat kisses!

Santa Ana winds = Electrical Cats

Santa Anas wreak havoc on furry boys' little bodies, and we in Southern California have been experiencing these winds for the past few days. The current Santa Anas are blowing hot and dry air from the desert towards the ocean.
Augustus has been particularly staticky! Loose bird feathers stick to his body as he walks about in the neighborhood.

His skin has become very dry requiring constant scratching, which makes matters worse because as he rubs his fur to relieve the dry itchiness he creates more static electricity and zaps himself, which in turn makes him to jump around excited and annoyed.

As you can see our little dude is annoyed by all this electricity in his fur!

Furry Ollie is not scratching...his fat skin is more immune to the dry winds but brushing his fur zaps him too : )

This is what he did after I brushed him, he pretended to have been shocked by electricity!

True as that may be, in reality he is only guarding the refrigerator. He knows mommy hides the turkey cold cuts in that big steel box!

And so to distract the boys from their troubles while simultaneously introduce them to new concepts I read to them the following:

"All material phenomena are subject to nature. All material organisms are captives of nature. None of them can deviate in the slightest from the law of nature. This earth, these great mountains, the animals with their wonderful powers and instincts cannot go beyond natural limitations. All things are captives of nature except man. Man is the sovereign of nature; he breaks nature’s laws... Man is gifted with a power whereby he penetrates and discovers the laws of nature, brings them forth from the world of invisibility into the plane of visibility. Electricity was once a latent force of nature. According to nature’s laws it should remain a hidden secret, but the spirit of man discovered it, brought it forth from its secret depository and made its phenomena visible. It is evident and manifest that man is capable of breaking nature’s laws. How does he accomplish it? Through a spirit with which God has endowed him at creation. This is a proof that the spirit of man differentiates and distinguishes him above all the lower kingdoms. It is this spirit to which the verse in the Old Testament refers when it states that man has been created “after the image and likeness of God”. The spirit of man alone penetrates the realities of God and partakes of the divine bounties." (Foundations of World Unity)

And the next time that we witness that lightning in the sky or the little electrical discharges on the kitties furry bodies we shall recall that this mystery of nature was once latent but today even cat boys know what it is!

Wishing all an electric Friday and electric cat kisses!

He laughs when I say Tweety bird,

but Tweety bird is his and Ollie's most cherished live toy.

We are up way early in the morning to go find Tweety bird...

We look and we look!

We look up into a tree...

We're back home an hour later and we did not see nor hear Tweety bird.

Ollie is concerned? or is he determined? He is confident that he can find him? Which is it? What is he telling me?

Nine hours later, mommy returns home, opens the door, and out dashes Ollie to show me Tweety Bird!!!

Joy, O Joy!

Yes, Ollie's eye candy...yummm!

Confident that Tweety bird is there to remain, he sets off onto his other visits! He has neighbor cats to say hi to!!

This is serious opportunity to review something divine, spiritual food, inspirational, etc. but we are having a day of rest, so to speak. My cat boys already have a prayer memorized and I think they will say it later themselves. It goes like this:

O God, guide me, protect me, make of me a shining lamp and a brilliant star. Thou art the Mighty and the Powerful!

This leaves me time to announce a serious giveaway from a talented Etsy silversmith, RosyRevolver. Check her out, she has a lot of eye candy in her store, and do say hi to her on her blog at www.rosyrevolver.blogspot.com!

On this Wednesday we wish that everyone finds their Tweety Bird!

Monday O Monday...

It seems to me that the week should start with a different day each week so as to keep us not anticipating. Last night, for no particular reason, I was reviewing Monday in my head while I was sleeping like a cat. This means that I was sleeping while remaining very alert about my surroundings. At 4 a.m. when precious August plopped down behind the arch of my legs I knew that it was Monday morning! Then I decided that I really needed to recall Monday's new name in order to be able to start this Monday. From way earlier posts, Monday's new name is 'Perfection' to remind us of the divine attribute of perfection everywhere in and about us, to remind us to look with the eye of perfection.... And so, although this Monday morning included such expressions from our lovely and expressive cat boys who did not want to be left alone at home....

it soon restructured with a group meditation on the idea of Monday being the day of Perfections
as we read:

O SON OF BEING! With the hands of power I made thee and with the fingers of strength I created thee; and within thee have I placed the essence of My light. Be thou content with it and seek naught else, for My work is perfect and My command is binding. Question it not, nor have a doubt thereof. (Hidden Words)

Wishing all perfections throughout the day and ... cat kisses!
Take it easy this Monday!

Making plans for the weekend, I asked,

when I found the cat boys conversing like this yesterday. The cat boys know that mama and dada are going to a wedding this weekend and wonder if they are going too. I think this is so precious.

I told them that it would not make sense for them to go because they don't know the couple who are getting married. They were relieved because crowds could be stressful to little kitties.

Fortunately, this gave me an opportunity to converse with them about LOVE. So I read this passage which they truly enjoyed!

The love which exists between hearts ... is prompted by the ideal of the unity of spirits... Each sees in the other the Beauty of God reflected in the soul, and finding this point of similarity, they are attracted to one another in love. This love will make all men the waves of one sea, this love will make them all the stars of one heaven and the fruits of one tree. This love will bring the realization of true accord, the foundation of real unity. (Paris Talks)

Wishing all love, true accord, real unity and many cat kisses...

Happy Friday and Ciao!

Our early morning walk

was early, cool, and dark. It feels like autumn is right around the corner. I walked Ollie down the street to inspect his little patch of dry jungle. Done!

Upon our return to the condo I found Ollie with a cape on! I am assuming that he is trying to tell me that the weather is cooling off! One never knows exactly what he has in mind.

While I was getting ready for work I glanced in the mirror and noticed that he had pulled out this magazine to read!

He is trying to tell me that he wants to trim his waistline or middle section. But his posture tells me that he is unsure about this.

Precious slender August is simply meowless, he is thinking what else is my silly brother going to do today!

I was so impressed, astonished, filled with wonder that I did not quite know what to select for our daily reading. Fortunately Augustus jumped in and selected this:

O SON OF BEING! Thou art My lamp and My light is in thee. Get thou from it thy radiance and seek none other than Me. For I have created thee rich and have bountifully shed My favor upon thee.(Hidden Words)

I think Augustus is telling me that I should not be surprised at the magnificence that is treasured in their little bodies, or maybe something else.

P.S. In case you have not noticed Ollie and Augustus went behind my back and purchased a banner for our blog from a beautiful artist, her name is Elisabeth. You may check her out here. I think they have a girlfriend in cyberspace and they are trying to show off. Regardless, more pleased I could not be! They truly are precious! And they have selected a beautiful design for their blog. Thank you SaltLife!

A happy Wednesday to all, may it be full of astonishment, wonder, aahs and cat kisses...

Ciao!
